Zinc CS3 SWC Beta

Multidmedia announces the Beta release of swc with MDM API for Flash CS 3 and Flex 2 that you find in devlabs.
It works only on Windows, but in the final release will works with both OS (Win and OS X).

This new SWC grants access to the {mdm}Script API for Flash CS3 Developers. The new SWC is still in beta whilst the final remaining issues are resolved, but provide developers access to {mdm}Script functions from within Flash CS3.

In the next few weeks, Multidmedia will announce new information about Pandora project, so stay tuned!

Zinc gamedev contest

Multidmedia launches a game development contest for the best game produces with Flash (or Flex) and Zinc.
You must submit an entire game or a game level which provides a creative and enjoyable gaming experience on the Desktop.
Prizes are a Sony PSP or Flash Software Goodie Bag worth over $1000, with contributions from Electric Rain, Sorenson Media, SitePal, FlashLoaded, Amayeta, PageFlip, Wildform and Blue Pacific.

Entries will close 20th August!

Help Adobe with your SWF

John Nack write an interesting post about help Adobe with your SWF projects.
In fact you could submit your project with:

– Your SWF or a link to your project or a screenshot of the project
– A brief description (3 to 4 sentences) describing the audience and purpose of the project
– Descriptive tags to categorize the project’s content and purpose – Use as many or as few tags as you like, and feel free to make up your own. Some examples tags are included below.
– Percent of all your projects that are SWFs
– Percentage of time you spend writing ActionScript
– Percentage of time you spend using the timeline
– Your name
– Your job title and company
– Your phone number (so a member of the Adobe’s customer research team can contact you for a quick 15 minute phone call if they need more information)

If your project will be choose you can win a $50 Amazon gift card.

Actionscript 3 library for MySql

In Mike Chambers’ blog I found a very interesting news about Actionscript 3 library for a direct connection with MySql.
The project name is asSql and it is in alpha version, but I think that we must keep in touch with it because it will be so useful resource.

Last night I read an article very interesting that talks about indexing a flash site in search engine.
With SWFAddress, a free tool of asual, you can create path for any page in your site.
It use ExternalInterface that is a new feature of Flash 8 and this techniquie is compatible with:
